TESON, in collaboration with the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Education (FOE), is organizing a national seminar on the emerging approaches to Teacher Education in Nepal focusing on two major themes on Friday 7 June 2024 (शुक्रबार २५ जेठ २०८१). The first part of the seminar will focus on a recent initiative in teacher professional development entitled Close-to-research Professional Development (CrPD). In this session Dr. Phil Kirkman, Professor of Education at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), Cambridge, UK will make a brief presentation based on his innovative research on Teacher Professional Development (TPD) followed by question answer and discussion. In the second session, TESON will present its thoughts on the contemporary issues in teacher education and invite the participants to contribute to the discussion. The discussion aims to draft TESON’s position on the issues of the requirements and provisions of teachers and teacher education in the context of current education reform.
